She was working at a Thursday night bar shift, and he came in with an old friend from college. As they sat at her bar, he asked for her number with about 6 failed attempts... The friend kept reminding him that he was messing up his chance and that it was time to leave. As they paid their tab, the girl behind the bar, and the boy hoping for a chance locked eyes. They stared at each other, and she scurried back to the bar printer to quickly rip off a piece of paper and scribble down her number - he was finally successful!

The next morning at 8:00am he texted her and asked her out to go get ice cream together… she quickly replied “WHO eats ice cream at 8:00am??”. So he opted to ask for for dinner instead.

The girl behind the bar and the hopeful guy have been “hanging out” (with or without ice cream) ever since. Five years later, they still joke around and say things like, “Hey, can I stay the night with you… for like 5 years straight?”. Because that’s basically what happened - inseparable since they locked eyes on that one fateful Thursday night.
